Update 20th May

KING HARMON MATCHPLAY COMPETITION- The draw for this competition has now been made and for the first time in several years it is back to its traditional format of straight knockout one on one matches from start to finish. There are a few names in for a preliminary round to be completed by the 3rd of June - Jason Beirne vs Pat Conroy, Liam Whyte vs Killian Egan, Pat Brogan vs Padraic O'Connell, and Paul Connolly vs Owen Garvin.

INTERCLUBS - Well done to Michael Simon's Seniors team who had a great win against Co Sligo Golf Club (Rosses Point) during the week. Kevin O'Connor and Pat Conroy had a good win in Boyle. Michael McHale and Liam Whyte suffered some bad luck in a narrow loss in Boyle, but there was a chunk of light when we heard that Charlie O'Donnell had secured a tight half in their match in the Point and later there was genuine delight when we heard that Michael Simon and Martin Sweeney had secured a vital away win in Rosses Point, thus securing the overall result for Boyle and progressing to round 2.

Hard luck to our Pierce Purcell team who lost to a strong Strandhill team at the weekend.

Our next interclub matches will be the Senior's team in round 2 of the Fred Perry Cup and our Mixed Foursomes team in their first round in mid June.

Results of round 2 will be published during the week.

Update 10th October

CLUB DRAW APPEAL - Our monthly club draw has been an important source of funding on a monthly basis for the club, and has been very capably managed by Liam Mullaney in recent years. However, the numbers of subscribers in the draw has declined considerably. We may have to stop the draw in early 2023 if we do not get some new subscribers, which would be a financial loss to the club. Please consider signing up if you have not done so already, either for monthly debit of 10 euro or a single annual debit for 120. We understand this will not be within everyone's means, so if you want to take part on an occasional basis, there are envelopes in the foyer of the clubhouse for cash payments. The bank account number for debits is IBAN : IE59  BOFI 905328 22439700.

RESULTS  - The first of our King Harmon Cup qualifying competitions took place over the weekend of 1st/2nd October. Adam Daly and Mark Feehan gave themselves a very strong chance of making the final 16 with scores of 45 and 43 points respectively. Gabriel Lavin came 3rd with 38 points. A players best 2 scores of the 3 weekends make up his qualifying score. The qualifiers continue over the weekends of the 8th/9th and 15th/16th.

BOYLE GAA - Well done to Boyle GAA Mens Senior team who are in the club's first Senior County Final since 1927. The panel contains several members of Boyle Golf Club and is managed by another member, Cian Smith, and we wish the team every success against Strokestown on October 23rd. Congratulations are also due to the Boyle Ladies GAA Intermediate on their County Final win over St Ciaran's.

For those wishing to make a night away of it, accommodation is available at the McWilliam Park Hotel, bookings to be made by interested parties themselves.
