Update 20th June

INTERCLUBS - Well done to our Mens Pierce Purcell tournament team who had a very solid win over Ballinamore Golf Club on Saturday the 18th. Boyle were up against it, having 3 matches away in Ballinamore and just 2 at home. The pairings of Lee McKillen with Conor Hamill  and Liam Whyte with Jason Beirne had 2 good wins at home in Boyle and the match went in Boyles favour when word came back that Lochlainn Conboy and Michael McHale had won their game in Ballinamore. The 2 other away pairings for Boyle were Terry Canning with Gerry Carty and Tadhg Lowe with Pat Brogan. Well done to joint captains Liam Whyte and Brendan Gaffney and good luck in the next round.

Hard luck to our ladies team who had a narrow defeat to Carrick On Shannon in the Minor Cup the same day. Mary O'Hara won her game and Aisling Gaughran and Susan O'Mahoney managed to bring their matches to sudden death play-offs, being level after 18, but luck wasn't with us. Best of luck to Carrick on Shannon in the next round.

RESULTS - Well done to Dessie Murphy and Mark Feehan for changing the look of this weeks winners list, with  Dessie winning the Mens' Thursday competition played on the 16th with 28 points, and  Mark a close second with 27, just edging  Pat Conroy on countback.

The 2s club was shared between Paul Brown and Paul Connolly.

Update 13th June

PRESIDENTS PRIZE - There was a great turn out of men for Ross Andrew's Presidents Prize on Sunday the 12th of June. Conditions were good but not ideal given the recent wet weather and that was reflected in the scoring after the first 18 holes with scores of nett 70 qualifying for the play-off when usually a 68 or better is required.

The winner was a veteran golfer, Frank Flanagan, just beating Michael Simon who had a very strong 3rd 9 to climb up the leaderboard and almost catch Frank. Gross - Gary Carty, 3rd Terry Canning, 18 nett Paddy McLoughlin, Past President Pat Conroy, Senior Michael McHale, Category 0-13 Lochlainn Conboy, 14-20 Conor Hamill, 21+ Jim Callery, 1st 9 Adam Daly, 2nd 9 Seán Purcell, 3rd 9 Mark Whelan, Longest Drive Gary Carty, Nearest the Pin Paddy McLoughlin, Student Cillian Doyle.

President's Scramble winners - The first placed team was that of Ross Andrew, Liam Whyte, Michael McHale, Kathleen Mahon.

INTERCLUBS - Hard luck to our Mixed Foursome team who were defeated by Co Sligo Golf Club. Both clubs won all their home matches and lost all their away ones, but Co Sligo had 3 on their own course in Rosses Point and made the most of their home advantage. Best of luck to Co Sligo Golf Club in the next round.
