Update 13th January

SPRING LEAGUE - Our revamped Spring League has generated great interest with an increased number of entries compared to previous years. Teams of 2 play a different format each of the 3 weeks- Scramble, Shambles, Betterball.

The club is always keen to get new names among the prizewinners and especially those of players who are relatively new to the game, thus it was great to see Bernie Kemple and Mary Queenan top of the league after round 1. In second place are another ladies team Liz Dwyer and Moira Egan, with Lochlainn Conboy and Michael McHale the highest placed Mens' team in 3rd place overall. Results of round 2 will be published during the week.

9 HOLE - There is a 9 hole competition running concurrently with the Spring League, which is open to all members whether they have entered the Spring League or not.

JUNIOR GOLF - The club is hoping to restart junior golf this year. The details are yet to be finalised but it will most likely be for an hour on Saturday mornings between Easter and Summer for children aged 8 to 12. There will be a meeting on Wednesday the 22nd February at 8 pm in the clubhouse for all club members interested in helping to get Junior Golf restarted. We are not taking children's names yet until we know how many volunteers will be available.

MEMBERSHIP FEES - Membership fees are now due and a full list of the fees and payment arrangements are available on boylegolfclub.com.

CLUB DRAW - MONTHLY DRAW -    January winners -1st Liam Whyte, 2nd Paddy Nangle, 3rd Denis and Mary O'Donnell. Please consider supporting our monthly draw.

1st place gets 120 euro, 2nd and 3rd 60 apiece. Entry envelopes are available at the clubhouse noticeboard or you can set up a direct debit for 10 euro per month to the club's bank account at the following IBAN : IE59  BOFI 905328 22439700.

CHANGES TO MONTHLY DRAW - The format of the Club Draw is changing to a  50/50 draw with the next one to be held on the Friday of Open Week (July) - so current direct debit subscribers will get 6 entries in that draw (Feb- July subs). As well as the current monthly debit subscriptions, one off entries can be purchased for 10 euro each in envelopes in the clubhouse.

This will guarantee a bigger prize fund for entrants as there will be more interest in "one off" entries than there is with the current system. We are very grateful to those who have contributed to our draw over the years as it has been a valuable source of funds for course maintenance.

CONDOLENCES - are expressed to the Flanagan and Wynne families on their recent bereavements and also to the family and friends of our former member the late Mick Moran.
