The highlight of the weekend at Boyle GC was the hosting of the
James Shivnan Memorial Golf Challenge. The wet conditions did not deter the
large field of players, a testament to how well James was universally liked and
fondly remembered. The results of the event are as follows:
1st Jonathan Egan 42pts
2nd Charlie O’Donnell 40pts
Gross Gary Carty 34pts
3rd Lorcan Egan 40pts
Front 9: Michael Simon
Back 9: Cillian Doyle
Longest Drive: Niall Kearney
Closest the pin: Michael Costello
Ladies: 1st Sandra McCrann, 2nd Mary O’Hara.
The day raised over €2600 which will be donated to the Mayo/Roscommon
Palliative Care Team & Oncology Unit Sligo. Thanks to all who supported
including those non players who made donations.
A Golfer of the Year Strokeplay Competition was held on Sunday
with Seamus Gallagher returning the best score on 67 nett. In second was Club
Captain Ross Andrew on the same score, gross went to Gary Carty with 72, and in
third was Michael Rush with 69 nett. This result will put Seamus in a strong
position on the GOY leaderboard with only three events remaining.
Thursday’s 9 hole result:

2nd Jonathan Egan 20pts
3rd Shane O’Dowd 20pts
