FIXTURES - The next few weekends will see our King Harmon qualifiers take place. This is the 90th year of the competition. The King Harmon Cup is the club's main Matchplay tournament and the cup itself has been competed for within the club since 1932, having been donated at that time by Sir Cecil Stafford King-Harmon of Rockingham House. It ranks alongside the Captains and Presidents Prizes as one of the more prestigious prizes on offer during the golfing year. Each Sunday will be played as a separate 18-hole Stableford competition with the leading qualifiers going through to the matchplay rounds.

CLUB OUTING - We are hoping to relaunch the annual club outing with a day's golf away in late October or November. More details to follow.

AGM DATES - The AGM of the Men's section will be held on Sunday, November 13th. The Ladies section will announce their AGM date shortly.  The overall Club AGM takes place on November 27th. Both meetings will be at 5 pm on the respective dates in the clubhouse.

Update 12th September

GOLFER OF THE YEAR - Following a recent review of the Golfer of the Year competition it was discovered that points had erroneously been awarded on both the Saturday and Sunday of weekend competitions instead of aggregated overall places. As of 10/9/22 Jim Callery is in first place with 69 points, Pat Conroy is in second with 66, Charlie O'Donnell is placed third with 64 points and Vincent Egan is next with 56.

RESULTS - Thursday Competitions -

1/9/22 1st Lee McKillen 21 points, 2nd Owen Garvin 21, 3rd Pat Conroy 17. There were no 2s recorded.

8/9/22 1st Martin Sweeney 21 points, 2nd Lee McKillen 21, 3rd Adam Daly 19. Again, there were no 2s recorded, therefore the pot rolls over to next Thursday competition, the 15th.

The last Thursday competition for this year is scheduled for the 30th of September. We still need sponsors for the 22nd and 30th, so if you are a regular participant in the Thursday competition and have not yet sponsored, please consider doing so.

The leaderboard for the Mens 18 Hole Stableford held on the 3rd and 4th of September had a younger than average age profile with Tadhg Lowe beating Adam Daly on count back, both having had 43 points. Ciaran Beirne took the prize for best gross score and Dessie Murphy came 3rd with 41, just edging out Michael O'Dowd on countback.

FIXTURES - The Mens Thursday Competition continues this week as mentioned above.

Next weekend (the 17th and 18th of September) there will be another 18 hole Stableford for the men.

INTERCLUBS - Good luck to Niall Kearney's Connacht Shield team who take on Tubbercurry Golf Club in the 3rd round this coming Saturday.

Next Sunday the 11th of September there will be an 18 hole stableford for the men.

INTERCLUBS -  : Well done to Niall Kearney's Connacht Shield team who chalked up another win, this time against Swinford Golf Club. Boyle had 3 games at home and 2 away, but were under pressure when they lost one of the home games. Thankfully Shane O'Dowd and Cillian Doyle hit a good run of form playing in Swinford and claimed a win in an away game to cancel the home loss. Boyle went on to win 2 more games at home in Boyle to seal the overall win, thus progressing to the next round of the Connacht Shield tournament.
