INTERCLUBS - Well done to Lewis Shaws Connacht Shield team who had a great win against Co.Sligo Golf Club (Rosses Point) on Monday 6th September. Lochlainn Conboy and Mark O’Donohoe had another fine win on the 15th hole in Boyle but the overall win was sealed when we heard that of the 3 games away in Rosses Point, Boyle had won 2, very much against the odds. The 2 away wins were achieved by the pairings of Paul Connolly with Gerry Carty, and Conor Hamill with Brian Furey. Best of luck to Lewis and all the team in the next round.

As well as the ongoing Connacht Shield campaign, Brendan Gaffney is currently assembling a team to play in the  Connacht 9 Hole Interclub Tournament. Boyle will be playing the winners of Strokestown vs Ballinamore in the next 2 weeks, with date and venue yet to be confirmed.

The Boyle ladies will compete in this year’s Roscommon Cup on Saturday the 2nd of October in Athlone Golf Club.

RESULTS - The winner of the Men’s Sunday Competition played on 5/9/21 was John McGuinn with 42 points. In second was Padraic O’Connell with 42 and Shane O’Dowd took 3rd place 40. Terry Canning’s prize for best gross score would suggest that his recovery is going well.
