Update 27th May

RESULTS - This week saw another fantastic score in the club with Karl Keenan winning the Bart Moran Cup with a 55 nett. Karl played his round in 69 gross (1 over par), which was all the more remarkable considering the windy conditions on the day of the competition. Liam Mullaney came second with 65 , Sean Heslin claimed the gross and Mark Whelan came third with 66 nett.

INTERCLUBS - Boyle claimed another great result in interclub matches this week, beating the big guns of County Sligo Golf Club in the Mixed Foursomes Tournament. Best of luck to Charlie O'Donnell's and Tish Perry's charges in the next round.

FIXTURES - The Bank Holiday weekend sees the annual fundraiser for the childrens hospital, the "Crumlin Classic" played as a team event. The Sunday after the Bank Holiday is the day for one of the years "majors", the Presidents Prize. Players are reminded that you must have played one "qualifying round" in Boyle Golf Club this year to be eligible to win first prize in this competition.

LADIES - There was very little separating the best scorers in this years Presidents Prize to the Ladies, but the undisputed winner was Susan O'Mahoney with a 69 nett, just edging Tish Perry's 70 into second. Peggy Feely also had a 70, which secured her the prize for best gross score and Mandy Toolan came third with a 71 nett.

Update 19th May


RESULTS - Brendan Gaffney was the winner of this years mens PGA tankard with a fantastic 44 points in tricky conditions. Brendan’s gross score was 2 over par for the 18. Also we offer congratulations to Jason Beirne who came 2nd in his first 18 hole competition in the club with a very strong 43 points. One to watch..

FIXTURES - Next Sunday’s competition for the men is the Bart Moran cup, played as an 18 hole strokeplay. The competition for the June Bank Holiday weekend is a fundraiser for Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children, the “Crumlin Classic”, played as a team event. The 9th of June sees the men play in one of the 2 “big ones”, the Presidents Prize. You need to have played one “qualifying “ competition in Boyle Golf Club this year to be eligible to claim 1st place in the Presidents Prize.
The mens' weekly continues as usual this Thursday as a 12 hole stableford.

INTERCLUBS - Well done to the team captained by Sean Heslin in the Pierce Purcell Shield in scoring a comprehensive victory over Strandhill Golf Club. Boyle take on the winners of Ballaghaderreen versus County Sligo Golf Club in the next round. 
Good luck also to Charlie O’Donnell’s and Tish Perry’s team in their second round Mixed Foursomes match against Co Sligo Golf Club.

Update 13th May




COMMITTEE CUP - The weekend of the 11th and 12th of May saw action take place in the Committee Cup, culminating with the best scorers from the men and ladies sections competing in a 9 hole play off on the Sunday evening. There was plenty of drama as always in the play off ranging from lost balls to runs of birdies, but one man came through it all to emerge top of the heap - Lewis Shaw. Second place went to Patrick Egan, Lorcan Egan claimed the prize for best mens gross score and Tom Kearney came third. Best of the ladies was Tish Perry ( following closely on her win in the Ladies Voucher), next best was Susan O'Mahoney with Mary O'Hara receiving the prize for best ladies gross score. Among the other prizewinners were : Seniors - Liam Mullaney, Handicap Categories 0-15 - Karl Keenan, 16-24 - Gerry O'Hara, 25+ Ted Hester. Nines prizes went to Paul Connolly, Gerry Carty and Vincent Egan.

INTERCLUBS - Well done to our Mixed Foursomes team, captained by Charlie O'Donnell and Tish Perry,  who recorded a win over our neighbours from Ballaghaderreen Golf Club during the week.
The best of luck to Sean Heslins team competing in this years Pierce Purcell Shield against Strandhill Golf Club this week.


CRUMLIN CLASSIC - The annual fundraiser for Our Ladys Hospital for Sick Children, the "Crumlin Classic" has been rescheduled to the June Bank Holiday weekend.

JUNIORS - This years junior golf lessons kick off on Saturday the 25th of May from 11-1. No equipment is necessary but feel free to bring same if you have it.

Update 5th May

RESULTS - Congratulations to Terry Canning who won the Mens Voucher competition with a score of 63 nett, thus being the recipient of a years free membership of Boyle Golf Club. Cian Smith was hot on his heels with 64, Sean Heslin claimed the gross, also with 64, and Karl Keenan came 3rd with 66.

The 12 hole competition played on Thursday the 2nd of May was won by Patrick Egan with 27 points, with Vincent Egan taking second place with 24 points. 

FIXTURES - The Crumlin Classic had been due to be played over the May Bank Holiday weekend but has been rescheduled now for the  June Bank Holiday weekend.
Next weekend , the 11th and 12th of May, sees one of the club's big competitions of the year, the Committee Cup. The course is closed on the Saturday to the men as the ladies round of the competition takes place that day, with the reverse arrangements pertaining on the Sunday. The best scores will duel it out in a 9 hole playoff on Sunday evening with the presentation of the cup directly afterwards. Both men and women are eligible to win the main prize, the Committee Cup itself.
The big competitions come up thick and fast at this time of the year with following Sunday ( the 19th) seeing the hosting of the PGA tankard, with the winner getting to play with a professional golfer in a Pro-am competition later in the summer.

INTERCLUBS - Our Mixed Foursomes team under the joint captaincies of Charlie O'Donnell and Tish Perry play a match this Wednesday the 8th of May against Ballaghaderreen Golf Club. We wish them the best of luck.

COURSE WORK- The annual pole-forking of the greens takes place on Tuesday the 14th of May. This does lead to some inconvenience as regards playing conditions on the course for a week or 2 afterwards but is absolutely vital to maintain the greens in good condition for the year.
