There was a large turnout for Charlie O’Donnell’s Presidents Prize last Sunday with Martin Wynne winning his first “Major” with a score of 95.5. At the presentation Club President Charlie O’Donnell thanked everybody who took part and said it was a great honour to serve as President. He thanked all those who had played or helped in any way to make the day a success and congratulated the winner Martin Wynne and all the prize-winners. He thanked the Course Committee and the Grounds man Charlie Beirne for the great condition of the course and specially thanked Michael Rush for his great work. He thanked Mary for the excellent food, Liz and Michael Rush for their help organising the day and Jessica Rush for looking after the presentation boards The winner Martin Wynne, in response, said he was delighted to finally win a major and thanked Charlie for a great days golf. He thanked all involved in the running of the club with special mention for all those who look after the course. He thanked his playing partners Terry Canning, Ross Andrew, Sean McLoughlin & Patrick Egan. He thanked Mary for her excellent food and finished by thanking the “press” and Jessica for taking photos.

Thursday night’s Mens Competition was won by Liam Whyte 28pts, 2nd Pat Conroy 27pts, 3rd Jonathan Egan. Friday’s Presidents Scramble was won by Liz Dwyer, Paddy McLoughlin, John Cryan & Seamus Gallagher 2nd Brendan Gaffney, Mary McKeon & Paddy Egan, 3rd Susan O’Mahoney, Carmel Keenan, Vincent Egan & Noel Tobin
The final of the foursome’s competition takes place on this Wednesday between Jonathan Egan/ Seamus Gallagher and Charlie O’Donnell/Ted Hestor
Competitions this week are the Mens Competition on Thursday. Friday will be a nine hole scramble. Next Sunday is an 18 hole at a reduced rate of €5.00. Open week commences on Monday July 6th will be a Ladies and Gents nine hole and Ladies Day is on Tuesday 8th. A full programme is on the noticeboard and on the website. Please encourage friends and colleagues from the club or other clubs to take part. Food will be available each day.
