Update 4th November

KING HARMON CUP -
Padraic O’Connell was the first man through to the King-Harmon semi-finals having beaten David Wynne during the week. The other semi-finalists are Gerry Carty, Michael McHale and Sean Heslin who respectively edged out Lorcan Egan, Liam Mullaney and Brendan Gaffney.

PADDY DALY -
Paddy Daly had a decades long association with Boyle Golf Club, taking up golf not long after his move to Boyle as a young man and still managing to play regularly into his 80s. Paddy served as captain in 1972, which was a very significant year for the club as its course had been on rented land in Warren for many years and the move to the club’s own course in Knockadoobrusna took place during Paddy’s year as captain. He continued to contribute in several capacities after this, including as club president in 1987, as a frequent sponsor of competitions and also as a player on several interclub teams. The club extends its sincere sympathies to the Daly family on Paddy’s passing.

RESULTS -
The Bank Holiday weekend competition was a Fourball Shambles for the Drumderrig Cup. The winning team members were Charlie O’Donnell, Ross Andrew, Tommy King and Seamus Gallagher with 96pts. The runners-up ( who did extremely well considering they were a man short) were the team of Lochlainn Conboy, Cillian Conboy, Conor Hamill with 93 points.
